Blue Persian Salt

A Little History: Blue Persian Salt is a result of 260 million years of natural formation. It is created by the evaporation of ancient seas, that’s why they also call it “Blue Sea Salt”.

The unique blue color comes from the mineral Potassium Chloride, which is formed naturally in the crystals overtime.

What is it used for?

Just like Pink Himalayan Salt, the Blue Salts main use is in culinary, as a healthier substitute for regular table salt. Its texture is more solid and crunchy than other forms of salt. That is why it is suggested for beef or shrimp carpaccio, white fish, sauces, or to decorate the edges of cocktails. It is also used in rock lamps for decoration.

How different it is from the Regular Table Salt?

The Blue Salt has a milder taste than the table salt. Its dry and crunchy, which makes it easier to grind in a salt mill. In terms of nutrients, the Blue Salt contains more beneficial minerals than the regular salt, such as Magnasium, Calcium, and Potassium. Unlike table salt which is refined with chemicals, Blue Persian Salt is 100% pure.

Why is it considered a Gourmet Food Product?

Blue Persian Salt is very rare. It is only produced in one salt mine in the north of Iran. Its beautiful color, health benefits, and pureness also contribute to the high price of this salt.
